All I can say is that this is making my decision to switch to SONY much more difficult.

I ordered one from J&R about 6 weeks ago at that price and just waited. About a month later it showed up (2 weeks ago), new and perfect. It never showed being in stock on JR.com that I can tell. This price is what they sold for last year before prices increased. AND, Canon now has the replacement version II coming out at $1049, so get your order in at J&R! This lens is CRAZY sharp, works very well on my 5D Mark II, the sensor doesn't overpower it at ALL.

What I am wondering about the canon remote (and mine) is whether you can do time-lapse photography at less than 1sec exposures. I have played with 1+ sec exposures with my remote and I can do them every 1+ seconds (this is done in bulb mode), but can the camera be put in non-bulb mode, have an interval applied and it will take the cameras exposure settings and take them every, say, 10 seconds?
