Thanks Jon. The first one is an HDR. Thank you for your comments on the last one. That angle only appealed to me because I could get the head in focus thru the wing. Your comments make me feel like mission acomplished.
I got this yesterday with my new 60mm. It's not the clearest. I shouldn't have been at 2.8 but I was excited and it was tough catching the bee still. 100% 50D

Great stuff as per usual :) The water is a really cool color. Is that just the sky's cast reflecting off of the shallow water?
Hi Mark, thanks for the comments.
The cool color is the result of 9:30am sun
My God I love love love this shot. The colors are stunning, the shadow is perfect, the bird looks majestic, stepping with his legs high.
Simply amazing. Amazing. I think this is my favorite photo that I have seen of yours. And that says a lot because you produce an amazing body of work with all those great bird shots! This one however, is perfect to me.
Beautiful shots as always.
Went on a butterfly count over the weekend, and ended up with more than just butterflies:
Setup was 40D + 300/2.8 + 2xTC and 5D II + 180/3.5 + 1.4xTC
Thanks for the comment guys,
Dann, I'm always amazed by your macro work. They are great, from composition to background to details.

Nate,
Another beautiful shot Nate.
I love the pattern the water drops and the reflections make.
Love how the bird has somewhere to go in the frame. Exposure looks great! highlights aren't blown and details in the darks aren't lost
Ahh I just love it! :)

That's one of the key things to keep in mind with nature photography.
Both shots there are very impressive. The exposure is absolutely perfect and the clarity and sharpness is stunning. Well done.
