So, I just bought this recently for my 50D, within the last month. I had wanted to get a lens that would take good pictures in low light, however I have found that my Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 (with IS) fares just as well if not better for my purposes.

Bought through B&H for $439 and a B+W 62mm to 77mm step up UV filter for it for $78.95. Brand new, probably no more then 100 pictures taken with it. And a Tamron lens cap ($8)?

I'm potentially looking for the following lenses...

Canon EF 100mm 2.8 Macro (the latest version), Canon MP-E 65mm 2.8 1-5x macro, or Canon EF-S 17-55mm 2.8 IS USM.

I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do, but I'm definately willing to entertain Trades/Offers...?

in good condition with pretty much every accessory you'd ever want included. I'll try to list every quibble I can notice:

·         very minor scratches on lcd (most are on the side the side where no pixels exist); I don't notice any scratches on the body.

·         lens barrel has a lot of creep to it (not uncommon with this lens, IQ is normal

·         dust in the viewfinder (could probably just use a rocket blower to get it out)

·         ~30k actuations

·         out of original warranty

·         canon did some work under warranty that replaced some electronics related to the shutter button. everything works perfectly fine now :D

I have the above lens, mint condition, rarely used, had a filter on since the day I got it.... still have the lens caps, pouch, and maybe even the box somewhere. Looking to sell it for like maybe $500 US shipped (I am in Canada so certainly open to CAD offers). Alternately, I might be willing to trade for an XSi with a couple of accessories.... basically I'm looking to gift this stuff to my dad (who used to do photography way back when but can't justify the puchases anymore) and I think he'd get more use of an XSi (rather than my OLD 300D) than the 70-200 (I've just finally purchased a 2.8 IS).

Okay, so I have previously posted that i have a tamron 200-500 for sale, but now i am thinking about selling it to adorama. My question may sound paranoid, but how trustworthy are they? If i ship my lens to them for a quote (insured shipping of course :) ) how can I be sure they'll ship it back if i don't like what they're offering? And how can I be sure that I'll recieve the money if i accept their offer? I know they're large and probably would have gained a bad rap if they ripped people off, but still- are they as good as B+H?

I started a post a while ago about getting my first slr on a budget. I have looked into some offers but I want to be sure I've covered all the bases before I purchase something. That being said, I like the rebel line, but I also prefer the feel of any XXD (I've borrowed both from friends).

So does anyone have a 30D, 20D, XTi, or anything of that caliber that they are looking to sell (MAYBE even a 40D for cheap)? Like I said, I'm on a budget, so I want to stay in the $300-$500 range ($500 being with a kit or extras). I need to pick up an 85 1.8 before hockey season starts and stay between $800-$1000 total. I wont be able to actually make a purchase for about 2 more weeks, but I am willing to talk and make a deal. If you have any of the items mentioned above and youre wanting to sell them, let me know. I have a tamron 200-500 f5.6-6.3, i've had it for a few months but i'm realizing i don't have as much opportunity to use it as i'd like. It's in great condition, AF works fine, no scuffs or scratches on the glass, the only damage is a small scrape on the exterior of the lens hood, which in no way affects its performance. I actually love this lens, it's sharp and has great range and fairly quick AF but i've only had a few opportunities where i really needed to use it. It actually meters as an f4.5-5.6 on my camera, an XSi, although this may not hold true on all cameras. I'm asking around 750 for it, but i would also be willing to trade for a 70-200 f4 non IS and a hundred bucks, or a macro lens of just about any brand, with cash to cover the equivalent. I'm based in the hudson valley, and my preffered method is face to face, cash only. I may be able to work something out with paypal, but i'm really hesitant to do that.

About the lens

It was very minimally used (I would say I had it on my camera 5-7 times) because after I got it with my camera I purchased 50mmm and it almost stays on my camera or gets replaced by 70-200 zoom. That is just me.

I would prefer to sell it locally as I have never done anything like this in my life (selling stuff), and that would allow prospective buyer to inspect the lens and test it, I am totally OK with it. I am in Bay Area, Northern California, but if someone is interested and would advice on other ways to conduct such transaction, we can discuss it...

My asking price would be somewhere around $350. Is that fair?

I posted this on FredMiranda, but I figured I should put it here as well...I'm selling some gear to try to put the scratch together for a 24-105 or 24-70 (haven't decided which, yet)

Contax/Yashica 35-70 f/3.4 with EOS AF-confirm adapter (happypage V4). All of the rumors about this lens are true...it's very sharp and has great color. I bought it to try out the whole Alt Gear thing, and discovered it wasn't for me. I had it cleaned and tightened about three weeks ago. The adapter is coded to 50mm f/1.8 and is somewhat permanently attached. Includes Contax front cap and Canon rear cap. $400

Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 macro. Very sharp and focuses quickly for a macro. Again, it's an awesome lens, but I don't shoot a lot of macro. Purchased about six months ago used from Adorama, in E+ condition. There's a little dust on the outside of the lens and a couple of small scratches on the distance thingy but the glass is pristine. Includes front and rear caps. $300

Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 (Canon mount). This has been my workhorse lens for about a year and a half. It was purchased new from B&H...I can probably dig up the receipt if you really want it. Includes original box, hood, front, and rear caps. Obviously not quite minty, but in very good condition. $300

B+W 67mm Circular Polarizer. All of my lenses that take 67mm filters are listed elsewhere in this post :) It spins, well, like a B+W polarizer, and the glass is pristene. Includes original plastic case. $60

Induro A013 tripod with Manfrotto Pan/Tilt head. This is a nice starter tripod for a point-and-shoot or a compact DSLR with a small lens. The tripod is very easy to carry around and gets the job done. Includes the Induro padded case and an RC2 plate for the included head. $100
