Great job Fred!! You got some expensive equipment there bud. 1ds Mark III and the 85 1.2; WOW!!!! She's absolutely gorgeous. great model.
Thanks jcmeza_21,The shot could have been made with any of the XXD cameras, a 50 1.4 @ f2 (80mm FF equivalent) and a 430ex (if I had that stuff). The equipment is definitely nice but it's knowing how to use what you have that matters. It does look amazing at 21MP though .Fred~
Here's my little contribution to this great thread. :)
A rather close-up portrait of my dear green eyed cougar (wife).
In post-process I croped it square and changed the levels.
Canon 400D, ISO 100, 1/500, f/2.5, 85mm

They are, and here's the color version.
I'm a rather strict b'n'w photographer but color for the change is good as well.

Hello,
I'm a beginner just starting out and love taking portraits with a nice blurred background. Any feedback appreciated.
Some portraits of my daughters. Three of Sigrid and the last one of Clara.

I sold my 28-135mm and purchased the 24-105mm 4L and have never looked back. Awesome lens!

The first two were taken last weekend in the evening on an over cast day using only available light. They are self portraits. I used a wireless remote for both. I'm on the left, my wife the right.

This is the first "shoot" i did after getting an SLR. I just had my wife sit on a table and I spent about 45 min roaming and shooting her from different distances etc. She really liked this one, it was her facebook profile pic for quite a while
Girlfriend was home for the weekend, figured I would go on a picnic and break out the 85 1.2
Canon 40D, 85 1.2 at 1.2 midday under a pavilion.
Awesome bokeh, magical rendering of colors ofcourse VERY sharp portrait.
Wonderful pic Joel. Thanks for sharing.
These are some of what I'd consider my best from recent senior portrait shoots. Watermarked only because they are senior pictures :)
I forget the strobist info. Sorry.
Comments/critiques welcome :) But these are already the final edits haha.
Enjoy, and great shots everyone!
