  • 16-35 vs 17-40

Hello Everyone... Aside from the price, I am trying to decide which lens makes more sense at this point. I currently have a 70-200, 85mm, 100mm macro and my pitiful kit lens--18-55. So the last is the one I am replacing. I want L series, as I plan on upgrading my body in the near future. I need opinions...

  • Canon 16-35 II or the 24-70 2.8 Lenses??

Would appreciate suggestions: we now have a 50D with - 17-40, 24-105 and 70-200 4IS. Looking to get a 2.8 lens for interior (party, wedding etc.) and landscape photography. Reviewing the 16-35 II and the 24-70. What would be best between these two or does anyone have a third lens to suggest. Thanks

  • Re: Canon 24-70/2.8L & 24-105/4 L IS, which one would you prefer?

I like the 24-70 better (though I don't have one), the only thing it is lacking maybe the 3- or 4- stop IS But I seriously suspect that there will be an IS verison coming out either this year or next year. The 24-70 was introduced in 2002, as a comparison, the 70-200 2.8L came out in 1995 and its...

  • How to test if a lens is functioning properly as it should?

as well as delivering the IQ it should? I just received my 16-35 f/2.8L II, and I would like to test if there's anything wrong with the lens. What are the suggested method/procedures? I notice Bryan shoots at some ISO chart, right? Appreciate any input!
