• Wide Angle Lens and Landscape Photography (hyperfocal distance focusing)

Hell Forum I am looking to purchase a wide angle lens and am looking for some help and suggestions. The camera I am using is a Canon 50D 1.6 crop and my primary use for the lens will be to shoot landscapes using hyperfocal distance in order to maximize the focus of everything in the picture. Zooms tend...

  • Best Wide Angle Lens for Indoor potography

Hello Everyone, I just purchased a Canon XSI with the stock 18-55mm IS and additionally a 70-200mm f4 IS lens. I have decided that I want a wide angle lens for indoor photography (halls, schools, restaurants, hotels, etc). What is the best lens (not most expensive) for this or can I use the 18-55mm IS...

  • Re: Review Suggestions
I have been using a Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DG HSM and I like it a lot. I would like you to write a review about this. I would like to hear what you think about it.
It would be interesting to see how it compares to Canon's offering, as I don't...

  • About to choose lenses for an XT

Hello. I'm very glad this site exists. So much information, so little time. When I buy my new lenses for my XT, I plan on doing my part by buying through this site. Background - I upgraded from a high-end Nikon P&S to a Rebel XT in December 2007, after I outgrew it. I have the 18-55 kit lens...

  • Wide Angle Lens

I am looking to buy a wide angle lens and was hoping someone could recommend one for me. Price is definitely a factor. I looked at F 2.8 16-35 mm L and F 4.0 17-40 mm L. The first one seems to be pricy. Will I notice any differences as a beginner? I am getting this lens to shot landscapes mostly. Is...

  • 17-40mm question

I was wondering if anyone here has used the 17-40 L for macro work with a 25mm extension tube. What are your thoughts? How does image quality compare to the 100mm f/2.8 macro? I imagine it would have some distortion and be very difficult to have a blurred background, etc. Thanks!

  • Canon wide angle for PJ?

Hello! I'm a wedding photographer by specialty and we use only L primes at this point. For wide angle we use the 24 1.4 and 35 1.4 mostly for the superior image quality. I loved using the 16-35 from a usability standpoint but it really didn't hold up next to the IQ of the primes. So I'm looking...
