Stills aren't an issue. I already have about 11,000 images of this same team. My only concern is video choicesfor the 5DMKII.
I know the lighting is pretty good, so I'm wondering what aperture...
Really nice. Colors and lighting are 10+.
How do you like the 1DMKIV?

I've been shooting stills since 1981 and video for about 6-months...and I don't do video professionally (or even well)! I need to capture some decent video of my own daughter next week at a sporting...
Peety - I like the way you think! Why own just one 5DMKII when you can own two.
I have a 5DMKII (actually one at work and one at home) and a 50D that usually serves as a backup. The nice thing...
I promise this isn
I love the EF 300mm f/2.8 L IS USM for video of sporting events. It even works pretty well from the back of a church at weddings. I mount the whole thing on a tripod with a video head.
Looks pretty awesome for BB. Basketball and volleyball are TOUGH sports. They both make my kneck sore from trying to keep the action in the viewfinder!
I use the Manfroto 058B. It weighs 26 pounds and you could rest a car on it. I installed the Manfrotto 501HDV head on top which makes a killer studio set-up.

YEP. I'm slamming ISO numbers I would have never considered in the past and making huge enlargements for customers.

I like the 1D MKII a lot and I still use mine for many commercial shoots, but the 7D has a lot of nice features. I think the screen size, improved controls and better menus makes the 7D a step up...
I like the 40mm version.
I like reflections off of glass better than this image where the image is coming through the glass...just me.
I have some images of a standing model that can be zoomed to the threadcount in her bustier. I think it is capable of very sharp images.
On jpg's I'm using User Defined #1 set toa sharpnessof 4,...
I just bought my second 5D MKII. Now the company will haveit's own copy. We absolutely love the camera for headshots, products and event coverage...and we are starting to use the video quite a bit...
I'm reversing my position on CGI. After reading about the parasites, I'm thinking photorealistic animation would have been OK. [6]
I'm trying to keep up with firmware for 4 Canon bodies at work and 6 more at home, so I don't usuaully jump right on new releases. Usually, I pick a rainy Saturday and go check every Canon body for...
You didn't even give the EF 1200mm a thought, did you? [:D]

This is a valid point. I do a lot of sports work work the local newspaper and our photo editor does not want much more than cropping done to the photos. I...
I don't know what might be available in your area, but here in Dallas we have the Southwest Professional Photographers Associtaion that hosts conventions, publishes a magazine, conducts seminars and...
The EF 85mm f/1.2 L II USM is a fantastic lens by all accounts. I have access to the EF 50 f/1.2 L USM at work, so I've never made the $2,000 investment in the 85.
For half the price, you might...
Look for an older EF300 F/4.0 L USM on the used market.I picked up a non-IS for $500 last year. It is tack sharp and MUCH lighter than the Ef 300 f/2.8.
You might also considertheEF 24-70 f/2.8...
You are going to love the 5D MKII. For weddings and portraits, it is the best tool available.
