In photoshop when you use image size make sure and utilized the bicubic sharpener option and make the image 1024 pixels wide.

Following that you may need to run Unsharp Mask at 500% 0.2 pixels 5 threshhold.

Joel, I think you have outdone yourself on this one. Now I love the previous shots with the awesome subject isolation, but this one with a touch of nature in it also is outstanding!

Edit: just notice how thin the DOF was on this shot. Still awesome though.

Joel, Love the comp on this goldfinch shot; The seperation between subject and back ground is outstanding and the background is buttery smooth.....but the quality seems below your normal standards---at least on what I am viewing. The bird seems to lack your normal detail (although the eye is tack sharp) and blown whites in the flowers tend to distract from the subject. Please try and work this shot again--It has the potential to be a "Home and Gardens" cover shot.

Red-tailed Hawk that let me get rather close. 7D & EF 70-300L at 300mm, cropped in to a 7mp frame. (looks better enlarged)

Nothing like the excellent images on this thread but I got a few images of swans and cranes last week when I went to photograph deer

If you are interested to see some more photos from the same day you can see them in my blog
Thanks for viewing and keep up the good work everyone!

EDIT: Added links to the big versions on the images.
