  • Fast lens .... What What?

I'm confused. If the most expensive lens out there are the fastest ones, then why do we need to stop them down in order to get the clearest, sharpest picture? Dont we pay more for those low numbers?? I'm understanding, lately, that most lens are best around f8 .... give or take a couple of stops...

  • Does price trump all?

What a pickle I am in. Just wondering how you guys deal with this problem. I don't know about others who shop for camera gear but I have checked out both mom and pop camera stores and large chain retailers and of course the wonderful internet. I have received such good service at this one store,...

  • Which lens for sports/general purpose?

I've posted a few questions on here before, and I have another one now. I'm saving up for a lens that will be used for indoor sports (hockey and basketball), but also just for general purpose...I do like to shoot things other than just sports. I'll be using it for lots of things. My budget...

  • Web Hosting

I'm getting into local sport photography and would like a simple (but profitable) turn key web hosting site. One that will accept credit cards, print on various materials (ie. paper, baseball, etc) and mail to the customer. By the way, did I say that I would like it to be profitable for me to do...

  • help-looking for my first slr setup

I bought an advanced point-and-shoot a while ago to see if photography was something I would be interested in. Turns out I like it a lot (especially sports), and even though I have a LOT to learn, I am looking to get my first SLR setup by mid-October. My dad coaches a hockey team and he said I could...

  • Found an Old Large Format System - Does anybody know what it's worth?

Hey Guys My mom recently found my great-great-uncle's camera - Linhof/Technika. Tell me if I'm wrong, but this looks like a large format system. It has the camera body, 3 large format film backs, and 3 lenses, ALL in absolutely awesome condition. Everything looks almost like new. Makes my 40D...

I have heard from my friends in China that in March, the price line for Canon lenses is expected to go up as many as 10% ... I am not sure if it is only a local thing or what, so I googled and found it is also the case in Hongkong: http://rolandlim.wordpress.com/2009/02/21/canon-lenses-price-rise-from...
