Make me a better photographer! Portfolio review

Ladies/Gents -


In my never-ending quest to become a better photographer, I think I have reached the point of having a body of work that can be shown to the general public without too much embarassment. Having said that, this forum can count some amazing photographers among its ranks. Sooooo, I'd like to jump in the deep end of the water and open my portfolio to review and criticism from the masses.

Flash: Canon Speedlight 580EX II and (2) 580EX (slaves) with Stofen omni-bounce and 2 portable softboxes and lightstand mounts
Canon ST-E2 Speedlight transmitter
Bowen Travelite 3000 strobe w/softbox ( x 3 ) inc. powerpack
Lots of misc. umbrellas, spots, snoots, etc.

OT : - TBH with you gear you should be a full time pro or near it just to make it pay for itself


However I love your early portraits, where you have control of the light you have a really great capture, where you have strong ambient light i don't really feel the images as much. too much top light and specularity accross the skin in IMO creating hots spot where your modelshave a bit of sweat.


As for you internal building shots, i love them, i am planning on doing so of that sort of work soon and would love to know you tips!

Thanks Mark - I'm just getting into utilizing HDRs in limited situations. The pride in me says its just cheating against my lack of lighting skills. But it does have its uses..... ;-)
