Light Meters

Just received my 430EXII in the mail today. Lots of reading to do on this puppy.


I was talking to a store clerk at click camera and he suggested i get a light meter. Not sure if he was just trying to sell me something or if this is something i would enjoy.


Do light meters help that much?


What are some good brands?

They can be very usful. I shoot almost totally in manual and use a Sekonic L-358 FLASH MASTER. It allows me to measure the light from the flash and the available light in one measurement. With your flash you will need to operate it in manual also so the pre-flash does not give you a false reading.
