The new TS-E 24/3.5 seems almost perfect:

I'm dying for its full test!

It does seem very impressive. It appears to be sharper that the 24 1.4 II at similar f-stops.

I can't wait to see a review on the 17.

I'd have to have someone shell out a some serious cash for my services for me to justify those price tags though.

I always think to myself before a big purchase, "Who needs a savings account or retirement fund anyway?"

Yeah, I have the same issue with such lenses: I'm getting more and more focused on fashion and weddings, so I can hardly justify a T&S wide angle! Neverthless I'd use it for my personal works.

I've just seen that ISO crops for TS-E 17/4 ("http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/ISO-12233-Sample-Crops.aspx?Lens=487&Camera=453&Sample=0&FLIComp=0& APIComp=2&LensComp=100&CameraComp=453&SampleComp=0 &FLI=0&API=0) are now available. While not as sharp as the new TS-E 24/3,5, it seems all the way impressive, considering the focal lenght. If distorsion figures are low, Canon has just made the architecture photographer's dream machine!
