Is anyone using a 430EX (http://www.adorama.com/SG530STEOS.html#ProductReviews]Sigma EF-530 DG ST Shoe Mount Flash for Canon EOS E-TTL-II? How does it compare to Canon's offerings? Does the TTL function reliably? Recycle times?

I've got a pair of <span style="color: #3366cc;)s and a430EX (http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-Speedlite-Transmitter-ST-E2-Review.aspx]ST-E2to control them. I'm considering a third <span style="color: #3366cc;) and eventually a fourth, maybe a 580EX ("http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-580EX-E-TTL-2-Speedlite-Flash-Review.aspx). If the Sigma is a good performer it could save me a bit and get me there sooner.

You have quite the strobist setup there... stick with canon i have only the sigma and it SUCKS.. lol recycling time is so bad i left , got a sandwich, and came back before taking another shot..... besides that it is very LOUD the zooming is louder than any camera shutter and it sounds like its broken when it realy is not... i made apoor decision buying it but i do not have the money so its all i got for now .. save yourself the hastle and go with canon. I would get the 580 ex II ,,, my friend has it and i have used it many times, it is amazing compared to mine. hope this helps and good luck :)

And I get miffed when one of my 430EX (http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-430EX-Speedlite-Flash-Review.aspx]<span style="color: #3366cc;)s fail to fire threeor four times in really quick repetition. [:P]

I kinda figured the Sigma was a dud being I hadn't heard anything muchabout it. I just checked and it andthe specs the Sigma says it has a 4-6 second recycle time! I'd imagine it would be quite frustrating. The user reviews are generally positive buttheyseem to have no experience with both it andCanon flashes.

I guess I'll stick with my plan to getanother430EX (http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-430EX-Speedlite-Flash-Review.aspx]<span style="color: #3366cc;)/430EX (http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-430EX-II-Speedlite-Flash-Review.aspx]430EX IIand a 580EX/580EX II, referbed like my first two if possible. I've even been eying used <span style="color: #3366cc;)/430EX II ("http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-430EX-II-Speedlite-Flash-Review.aspx)/580EX ("http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-580EX-E-TTL-2-Speedlite-Flash-Review.aspx)/580EX II ("http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-580EX-II-Speedlite-Flash-Review.aspx)/550EX ("http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-550EX-E-TTL-Speedlite-Flash-Review.aspx)s on E-bay.
