It's the Neck Strap L4 that comes with all the 1 series bodies. Part number C56-1731, if you really wanted to know.

Is it just lettered Canon EOS or does it say 1D as well?

Also, unlike the other straps the thread on the lettering is gold instead of white (really pale gold).

I have the same strap on my 50D. It has Canon printed twice on it along with EOS and then 50D. Looks sweet

Not quite the same thing... the 50D strap is the EW-EOS 50D which is
basically the same as the strap for the 30 and 40D except for the "50D"
embroidered on the strap. The strap is pretty close to the same as the
ones for the 1 series bodies, with the exception of solid black instead of red borders on
the thin parts where the strap attaches to the camera and white
lettering instead of gold.

Sean, is your strap a "Neck Strap L4"? I looked at one on a website thatdidn't have the red embroidery. I love the look of the strap in Brian's review of the 24-70L, especially the red stipes on the small webbing.

The link I provided wasn't actually my strap. I simply typed in "Canon EOS strap" into Flickr's search and found what I thought was the same strap. The title of the picture was 1DMKIII, so I assumed it was a strap that came with the 1D series bodies.

Sounds like you already received lots of good information, but I'll confirm that the strap theincluded-in-the-box strapfrom one of the 1-Series Mark III bodies. I think it was a 1D Mark III. [:)]

I ordered a P/N 6255A003 "Neck Strap for EOS Rebel Series-Pro Neck Strap" for $30 from Amazon. It is lettered "Canon EOS" and has swivels and quick release buckles. The main strap has the red embroidered stripes, as does the small webbing that interfaces with the camers lugs. It looks very close to the 1D strap. I like it but have always had issues trusting plastic QR buckles. This product looks great and I'll just be as careful as possible with the QR buckles.
