I just bought a 28-135 but I saw a great deal on a 28-70mm lens. Should I spring for the L lens or just settle with what I have?

I'd rather have the "L" but I'm cheap...how good of a deal?

The 28-70 mm F2.8 L was suppose to have been an excellent lens. It was replaced by the 24-70 F2.8 L which is one of today's top lenses.

Like Jarhead5811 said, how good was the deal for it?

If its a great deal, go for it, but remember you're giving up 85mm of focal length, which reduces your flexibility.

Cozen,

I have both. It depends opn what you primarily shoot.

If you shoot alot of still things, like museums, buildings, etc.or use flash when shooting indoor events the 28-135 f3.5-5.6 ISis a great lens because of the IS. It has pronunced barrel distortion at the wide end but that can be fixed in post process.

If you shoot alot of moving things like people, indoor sporting events and like to shoot with available light then the 28-70 f2.8 is a great lens.

If you can get the 28-70lens for the same price as the 28-135that would be one fantastic deal!

One just sold here: EF 28-70 f2.8L ("/forums/t/1621.aspx)

Bottom line is the choice is up to you. [:)]
