being able to download CS4 and Photomatix legally for $70 total almost makes up for spending $110 on a spanish book that i'll open twice all year

Don't worry..... adulthood will come soon enough. Getting software at rediculously reduced prices will be the least of your lost benefits. So, enjoy the heck out of your youth. ........[:D]

Indiana University has a site for their students where they can download various softwares free or at low cost. Photomatix only requires a valid school email and they'll send you a code to that email to enter in when you're downloading it.

No, it's not. You likely won't get caught, but it's not good at all... I may be biased, being a developer in the piracy ridden games industry.

If you can't afford Photoshop, use GIMP (free), or get Photoshop Elements.

i wont go into a discussion of whats right and wrong, but i do think that some software is just stupidly expensive!

The advantage of being a college student for me was the student loan [:)], having the luxury of living at home with my parents and they paid for my tuition, guess what I did with my student loan....buying photographic equipment.

Funny, being a software developer gave me the opposite bias.
