New lens coming up?

Some say that camera manufacturers tend to release new lens along with some big international event. So next year we will have 2010 World cup, any clue if Canon is going to offer any new stuffs?


For example, 24-70 with IS?

There's always rumors, we'll see when they actually announce them.


But the 2 rumors I'm looking forward to coming true are the 24-70 IS and 70-200 2.8 IS II.


Also a 15-24 would be greatly appreciated :)

Just for fun sake of guessing; I'd say the 70-200 would see an update before the 24-70 especially if they were doing it to coincide with a sporting event. I could see the 24-70 IS being released side-by-side with the 1Ds mkIV though.

The other big international event coming up is the Winter Olympics, in February. I think people are hoping for the 1DmkIV before the games start, but for lenses, hmmm, how last minute can Canon surprise us with a lens or two? Maybe the 100mm Macro and EF-S 15-85 are our new lenses. Or, maybe you're right, andthe World Cup will see some new glass to go with the new 1D, and the unannounced but expected 1Ds.

Saw that mentioned on some rumor site. They can come out with that. I'm not interested in that range so it won't cost me a thing.
