Hello Friends,

I am one of those lovely redneck people who enjoy fast cars; and I'm also fortunate enough to be a flight paramedic for CareFlite in D/FW who provide air medical service to Texas Motor Speedway. When we are at the races we are tucked on the inside of Turn 4 less than 10 yards from the track.

As a passionate NASCAR fan; should I use similar "stop action" settings that you recommended for indoor basketball, or is there some other Av secret that I'm not aware of. The next race will not be until April so I have a little time to purchase a new lens if you recommend?

I would greatly appreciate your assistance.

Semper Fi,

Russell

As Oren suggested, panning (with practice) will give you very nice results. It will allow you to keep the car in focus but blur the distracting background.

There are many other shots available at the track - mix it up.

To help a blind man out here; what are the cliff note differences between Servo mode and etc? I know where the settings are on the camera from shooting the basketball stuff? Anybody willing to help me understand?

Thanks Friends,
