DPP v3.8 now allows us to rotate a picture in .01 degree increments. There is an electronic horizon indicator in the 7D, which means there has to be data on that horizon. Who thinks these will be tied together soon for automatic correction when desired?

If the 7D can capture the leveling metadata with an image, and DPP can see and utilize that info to make automatic corrections to photos that are shot out of level, I think that would be a very useful option. I know sometimes shots are captured at various angles for composition or artistic reasons, but when the intent is to be level but we're just a little off, this could be great!

Smart thinking. I bet you're right.

Well, thank you, Daniel. Coming from you that means a lot. I thought it made sense, anyway.

Where did you get 3.8 as it isn't on the Canon USA site anywhere?

Only the manual is available for now. It describes the new horizon correction feature. I'm sure the new version will be available for download before the 550D hits the streets.
