How does that mounting arm work?

Check out this pic ("http://www.flickr.com/photos/prismred/3616570198/) (and the pics before and after it in the stream) to see how it works. It allows you to freely orient the Apollo in just about any direction. I made a DIY version that worked decently with a shoe-mount flash, but it doesn't work with my studio strobe (the pole I used is too thin to clamp in the umbrella holder of the UZ1600). That's why I'm giving the original a try.

Ah. Neat. Cheaper than a boom.

If you want a grid for the Apollo this one (the 28") fits nicely with addition of some velcro around flange.

That's pretty cool. I bookmarked it. In addition to my 4x6' softbox, I'm thinking about picking up an octo w/ grid (https://www.dennymfg.com/store/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypag e&product_id=8889&category_id=44&manufacturer_id=0 &option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=26]Softbox grids

Softbox arrived today intact. Thanks!

I can't wait to try it out. The mylar on the inside is way more reflective than the one I already had. I bet I can get a 1/3 stop more out of this one.
