Bill --- Thanks for your comment. Your own shot represents about the pinnacle of difficulty in photography, from my point of view... great capture and great work! In my case, the train wasn't going anywhere, and I just had to figure out how to 'paint' it evenly with the flashlight in my 30 second exposure. I had time to make about adozen attempts during the period when the sky was still cobalt blue after sunset.

This originally was in my throw away pile because the flash on her left didn't fire. But when I saw the assignment, I figured it fits the topic perfectly! All she needed was a tear rolling down her cheek to add alittle more drama!

I did take some shots two nights ago but with no clouds it was just your ordinary moon shot! Hopefully, tonight will go better since there is some rain in the forecast! I got up extremely early this morning to go take my first shots of a sunrise but it was raining ...so no sun :( Maybe tonight the rain & clouds will work in my favor! [um]

Picture shot with 2 stobes in the late evening of me firing my glock pistol. I wanted a cool perspective/up close action shot of a gun going off so this is what I turned out. I got really lucky with the clouds last night, it was actually a pretty clear night by me, except for this one huge cloud that went right by my photo. I'll take luck anytime I can get it.

Hi Everybody, I just finished selecting the finalists, and wanted to say that, although I was a bit apprehensive about choosing "Darknesss" as subject, I'm now quite pleased that I did -- and quite impressed by all the submissions! So a definitive "thumbs up", and thank you, to all that participated!

And with so many great photos, selecting the finalists for the voting wasn't easy. I tried to put photographic quality, creativity, and "level of darkness" into the equation, plus having a wide range of rather different images, although sometimes it seemed that I might as well have flipped a coin...

Anyhow, thanks to "Whatsreal" the vote should be open soon, and I'm already looking forward to the next assignment ;-)
