Wow this could bring out some really abstract shots!! Nice topic!

Any chance we could pin this to the top once voting has started - I believe that was suggested a couple ofdays ago. I thought it was a great idea.

Pinning it only pins it to the top of the assignments forum, not the recent posts list that we all use. Perhaps in a newer version of the forum software it will allow for pinning on the recent posts page.

A reflection from back in December.

I haven't been around much recently (much at all, compared to most of you I suppose!), but I couldn't resist this subject. This is one of my recent favorites, taken at Sage Hen Reservoir in Idaho this past June.

I know I broke a few "rules" but it just seemed the right thing to do.

This is a beautiful shot! Great job! Did you do HDR post on this?
<div style="CLEAR: both"]</div>

Thanks Cozen!

No HDR for this one but I did a bit of tweaking in Lightroom 2. From memory I added a graduated filter top and bottom to give the sky a bit of life.

Cheers, Ben.

Being the new guy, I will assume this thread has been held open just for me. =) My submission is easy since I have one that I titled "Reflections" so it must be a shoe-in.

Hey Guys!

Sorry again, I haven't been getting any forum emails till today, so I didn't know RagingBlues had replied to me. He selected an awesome set of finalists for us to vote on. Go to the OP to view the finalists and vote.

If you would be so kind as to post a comment after you vote to bump the thread that would be great.

Courtesy of Ragingblues is Assignment 12: Reflections. Here is his description, "'The shot could includeany reflective element or surface like water, mirrors, glass, assorted shinymaterials, cars, jewelry, etc..... as the main subject or as part of the story in the shot."

Hi everyone -

Thanks for the many votes! That is a great honour from a talented group such as this. I apologize for the late response to this... I was away on a sea kayaking trip, aboard the very same vessel shown in the photograph, ironically enough. It was such a great trip last time, that we just had to go again.

For the next assignment, how about vertical compositions (i.e., portrait rather than landscape)? The photo should be one that is a
