I was wondering if anyone knows about the progress Canon is making on fixing the black dot issue in the 5D Mark II. Anyone know if a firmware update is in the near future? *cough* David *cough*

The issue has been very quiet since Canon's acknowledgment of the problem.

I'm sure they're working hard on it...however, drawing any more attention to the issue is probably not something they want to do (until they have it resolved).

Since firmware v1.0.7 is out, has anyone been able to confirm that it fixes the problem?

There seems to be lots of ongoing postings on the fix/not-fix question at the 5D discussion forum of DPReview. Not sure that the black dot issue has been actually resolved or simply patched.
