Looking at selling my 70-200mm 2.8 is. This is the first version of the lens, any thoughts on appropriate asking price? I was thinking $1700?

Thanks!

Edit: I have all original items (Case, hood, caps, tripod ring).

If you are selling it to me, $400[:D]

If you are going to sell to anyone else I would say $1600 to 1650. KEH has one in EX condition for $1739 and they offer a 60day warranty.

That lens has a damaged filter ring for $1739. I wouldn't buy that lens because you don't know if it will give you trouble down the road.

Here is the price list from Keh;

$1800 EX without hood and caps.

$1900 in EX condtion with hood and caps.

$1900 in EX+ condition without hood and caps

$1950 in EX+ condition with hood and caps.

And $2030 in LN- conditon with hood and caps.

I think $1700 in very good condition is a good price with all the original items.

Just my 2 cents,

John.

There are two available on my local Craigslist, one for $1575 and one for $1350. The latter has a small crack in the distance scale window, the former is in mint condition.
