I think I remember that when I had a 40D, the ISO 200 was better and provided a little more cushion than the ISO 100. Do you folks know if the 7D is the same way?

What do you mean by "cushion" at ISO 200? Mabye HLP mode? Apart from HLP mode ISO 100 has the most dynamic range and color tones for your old 40D and 7D.

Cushion as far as extra shutter speed or DoF difference with having twice as much light albeit artificial. The siginal to noise ratio on the 40d was better or just as good on iso set at 200 rather than 100. I was also thinking about the highlight tone thingy and didn
