Prices on Canon lenses to rise beginning March 2009?

I have heard from my friends in China that in March, the price line for Canon lenses is expected to go up as many as 10% ...


I am not sure if it is only a local thing or what, so I googled and found it is also the case in Hongkong:

thid price rising thread had been beat to a pulp...its been going on so long ..yes they will rise ...when is the last time you so the price drop...its called inflation
