Hi all,

I'm about to purchase a Canon 880 IS and I need to get a couple of SD cards for it. Is it worth getting the faster / more expensive ones (i.e., SanDisk Ultra II or Extreme III), or do you think the standard ones will be fine on a compact? Basically, will the compact take advantage of the faster ones or will I be wasting my money?

Thanks!

Tony

for the most part a faster card is great for SLRs becasue of the continous bursts they are capable of. For a POS (Point and Shoot) i would not recomment wasting money on an extremely fast card unless your shooting burst of pictures at large quantities. Hope this helps

I agree. You should be fine with a "regular" SD card. SLR's will take full advantage of the faster speed of high-speed cards, but with a point-and-shoot, you should be in great shape using a regular SD card.

Hey guys,

Your feedback was much appreciated! You basically confirmed what I was thinking (and I rarely shoot in bursts anyway, even with my SLRs). Thanks!
