I'll be the first to enter a LANDSCAPE photo: My Favorite Things (a collage of places I've seen since I started chasing light in 2010) By the way, 5 were shot with the Canon 5DMarkIII and the other 7 with the Canon 7D.

Fabulous Erno....I had considered doing something similar with birds but never did it.

Simply delicious.

A friend of mine tries to maximize "loves in one". For example, ice cream with sprinkles, two (of her) loves in one. Your collage made me think of that. But it is 12 loves in one.

Landscape "old pier"
I'm still trying to decide if I like the result, so I welcome opinions.

Hi, the only regular portraits I've done recently are rather boring ID photos. Instead I thought I'd participate with a portrait-like photo from a recent hockey tournament.

Portrait - Ninja I took out the floor to make this image work. He was already in the air.

Ok, winners are as follows:

Portrait: Jayson - Ninja
This was a very tough call. I really enjoyed DavidWare's "Make a Wish" and cls's "Focus," but in the end Jayson's timing, lighting and perfect exposure tipped the odds in his favor. Well done to all three, though!

Landscape:
erno james - "My Favorite Things"
Again, this was a close one. I really enjoyed nvitalephotography's "Old Pier," but erno's impressive collection worked very well as a set. The interesting thing about erno's image is that all the shots are great on their own, but for some reason the set seems to equal more than the sum of its parts. Great variety and placement of the shots.

Nick,
I like it a lot! Lighter and darker tones are well balanced, the dark "sticks" form an interesting pattern, and my eye goes back and forth between looking at it as a pattern vs looking at it as the actual landscape scene - Very interesting. I also like the composition with the extra empty space at the bottom.
Definitely a bit unusual - which I like - and well executed.

Thanks Sean and congrats Erno!

Nick, I agree with everyone that that old pier shot is stellar. I like the way you have processed the image and I don't think I would change much if anything.

Nick:

I like it. The light sky looks like fog, and fits the compisition well. As you can tell from the other comments, it is a matter of personal taste, but I may have cropped off the bottom more... however, it does look good as is.
