This is the final image of the week for 2013!
Entry period will be from Sunday to Sunday, with this week closing on the 29th December.
Only two categories; Portrait and Landscape

Portrait- Anything with eyes, people, animals
Landscape- Country, town, city, sea, abstract, things (water drops, smoke, flowers, candles and so on)

Each category will have a winner each week and this week will hopefully be judged by M_Six

A monthly poll shortly.

I have finally finished processing the last few shots from my trip to South Georgia and the Falkland Islands. These are from the Falklands:

Landscape: "Defensive Measures". This gun post was used to defend the entrance to Stanley Harbour against German invaders in World War II. It has nothing to do with the conflict of 1982 against Argentina.

This is a self-portrait I took while testing out a newly acquired product, the RoundFlash. I intended for the photo to be a bit darker in theme than my normal work. The ring light is providing fill for the portrait.

Hi Folks. Wow these are tough to judge. Some really stellar work here. My choices for this week:

Portrait: Joel's "A close up of a Bluejay" - I love the sharpness and the golden spiral aspect. Just a flawless image. Well done, Joel.

Landscape: Andy's "Defensive Measures" - I waffled on this for a while because there are several great landscape shots here, but Andy uses Depth of Field superbly here. The background is OOF, but not so much that you can't see what it is. It gives the whole image great depth and lets you feel what the original gunners must have felt. I can clearly envision shells from this gun exploding along the far shoreline during target practice. Nice work, Andy.

And great submissions everyone.
