Welcome to TDP forum's "Image of the Week" competition. Each week photographers may submit their images to compete for the title of "Image of the Week." Weekly winners will then compete on a monthly, quarterly and finally in an annual poll for the title of "TDP Image of the Year."

There will be only one weekly winner.

This entry period for Week 11 will be from Monday March 9th through/including Sunday March 15th.
Please supply a title for your image.
This is an open competition for landscape, portrait, architectural, macro and any other appropriate photographic style.
Images should have been either recently taken or processed.
Enter as many times as you would like.

This week will be judged by Dave Throgmartin.

Good luck!!

Warm enough to get outside the past couple of days so we took a little trip. Found this guy eating dirt. Not sure if it was good or not.

I heard that there were 53 of these guys gathered not more than 30 minutes from my home. I went around 9 am hopefully to get some trying to catch or digging in the ice but the adults were too far out. I did get buzzed by this "little" guy. They are much bigger than they appear!

I just got back from a 5-day visit to Jasper National Park (directly north of Banff park). This is a sunrise photo that I took on the first day, while we were still in Banff. I've been to this spot many times, but have rarely seen it light up quite this nicely.

That is a beauty. Good choice of shutter speed.

I am surprised you have any open water up there. We still have not seen open water even on the rivers. It has been real warm this last week (highs in the 40's F), but the ice hasn't broken up yet.

Water is nice for those great reflections. That one is begging to be printed.

Thanks! The sunrise was quite spectacular that day and I enjoy using the Big Stopper every now and then just to see what might happen. I was especially pleased because I had a photographer friend from Missouri visiting and I wanted to show him a good spot for sunrises. Needless to say he was quite blown away by the show. This lake always has a couple patches of open water throughout the winter due to a natural warm spring in the area, which percolates to the surface. And it's sheltered enough that the water is usually calm even when it's a bit windy out. Really it's one of the best photography spots I've ever seen and it's only 30 minutes from my door. In other words, totally an unfair advantage :p. I'll post some other pictures from Jasper National Park in a separate thread. If any of you are thinking of doing a trip in my area, I can definitely point you in some directions for photo ops!

Spotted Salamanders are really moving right now. I took my Eos M out with a flash to get a couple quick documentation photos and this one turned out okay.

Wow thanks ---- my vote would have gone to David Ware's portrait photo but I appreciate it very much. Like I said before I feel like I have a ridiculous unfair advantage living out here in this beautiful landscape. But I definitely get heaps of inspiration from all the fine shots I see on this forum. Thanks again.

I am not sure which I would have selected, but, agreed, that was a great shot by David....
