Is it me, or is it that I started w/ a T3i....

Basically $300 for a T3i refurb (sell the 18-55 to someone?). Load up M.L. pick up a ton of features.... the only thing lacking is FPS.

For a new entrant into DSLR and out of P&S or Cell phone photo. oooofff

Agreed the focus points are light - but in reality, I use the center point way into the 90% range anyway.

Recommending this to someone?
or
Just saying it is a good value?

I bought the wife a t4i and I like it for family stuff. Flip screen, touch for tracking with video and I left the kit lens on it. I don't need FPS for that.
I like the sensor in the 7D II more, wish it had the flip touch screen. Doesn't Canon realize how convenient the flip touch screen is for Video?

good point on the touch screen, just a good value.

I would love a "pro" level w/ a flippy touch screen. It is sooooooo darn handy.

I've been watching sales for the SL1 for ~$350-$400 go by. I've emailed them off to people I know more than once.

Any time they have gotten to the cameras that require more weather sealing, the flip screen disappears (7D II, 5D III, 1D). I suppose it would be harder to seal, especially since you need to run power through the joint. Adding seals would make that joint even larger, and require a total redesign.
