"Old Rally Road"

When my parent were young they went here to see rally races all around those beatiful hills in Tuscany. The place is behind Badia a Passignano, in the hearth of Chianti.

Stuart - Congratulations... that sucking sound coming from you wallet may finally quiet down a bit. But seriously, it is difficult to get a good shot of a graduate amongst the crowd, but you managed to do it quit well.

Here is my submission for the week. It has been a while since I have shot a sunrise or sunset. It was really nice to get out again.

What is the purple thing???
I can only speculate, it must be some sort of magic elixir to induce euphoria, with possible short term memory loss.

Another contraption to induce euphoria. Owning/driving one can be fantastic, and create longterm lasting memories... or if you are in a rush and need all the comforts of modern living, it is a divorce inducing device.

Having 4 daughters, two in college and two that just graduated "I feel your pain" and joy. As a dad to 4 daughters, I did notice the gender mix :).

Love the colour and composition. Only thing I might change would be level the horizon.

Nice colour in that. Does this mark a return to those early misty morning shots?

Thanks. It was a nice morning and a great sky. My trusty Canon gear and Lee filter had adequate DR shooting into the sun.:p I had to throw the DRoning in for you. :):):)

Thanks.
I see what you are talking about, but I did use the electronic level in the camera... so it was level with the world, but the curving river and tilted tree line over the river does make it appear off a bit. If a picture is level to the world, I seldom try to fix it to the perceived level anymore because in the past when I tried to do that it always looked worse. Now days, I try to use the electronic level for all my landscapes. I am usually right on, but some times it can be a bit off, and it is difficult to crop right without loosing the composition.

The one thing I wish I would have done though is to zoom in more. I had taken the majority of my shots at a wider focal length than what I posted here, and intent was to go wider. However, in the end I ended up liking the zoomed in shot better, but when playing around with it some in post, I came to the conclusion I should have zoomed in more - then the fog would have played a bigger part in the composition. Live and learn I guess.

I hope so.

By the way... a lot of people would kill for a wedding shot like that.
