This weekend a world cup series offshore race was held in my hometown along with a national (Swedish Championship) competition for smaller boats. Of course I went down to the shoreline to get some shots (and to get some practice with my Sigma 150-600). These guys (and gals) seem absolutely fearless when racing at insane speed across the water - quite spectacular and photo friendly.

I have had an amazing time documenting the sunsets provided by the wildfires in Canada. I feel terrible for even saying that knowing what they are going through up there. This was taken across a pasture with a 300mm at f/4.5 with a 6D, ISO 1250.

I got this and some others "Sunflowers" based shots during a post-work tour in Mugello - Tuscany, near my office.

Alberta Cup

There was a mountain bike race at the Canmore Nordic Centre last weekend, and I ventured over with my camera to check it out. This is my favourite place to ride, and it's only a few minutes from my door. Watching these elite riders smoke down the trails was pretty impressive.

Really great entries this week....tough decision....I have to give honorable mention to The Boat in Flight and The Vander Veer Fountain but the winner is "Frankfort Lighthouse" ..... killer shot with the stars in the sky and radiant light beams from the tower...amazing Pat...congratulations on a beauty!

Thanks guys.

I like lighthouses at night... after all, that is what they are built for. At night, nobody is around.

I had to walk quit a ways out on the channel wall, and the further I went the narrower it got with busted up cement, holes, and trip hazzards. Just before I headed back my head lamp started acting up... luckly I carry a backup flash light. I was hoping would hold up.

But overall, a nice beautiful calm night.
