Do you have fireworks shots to show off? Post them here if you do [:D]

I don't have a tripod so these are all handheld. Manual mode was used, aperture was set to f/8 most of the time (should have used f/16 or higher f number - next time), shutter speed = bulb, ISO 100, manual focus set to infinity except with one or two shots which I tried to take using AF.

I think you should have used a bit faster shutter speed and narrower aperture so the fireworks themselves wouldn't have turned overexposed as they did. Except that, the scene itself is AMAZING - nice work!

Here's a shot I took during my "before Canon" days. I was setting up a camera on a tripod, and checking settings before the main show started when someone from the crowd launched a single shot into the river. A 5-second exposure at f/5 on a "point-and-shoot" Fuji S6000f

Oren,

I never would have attempted "hand-held" fireworks shooting, but I actually like the effect; almost like electricity. Here is my first attempt at fireworks.

Not very exciting, but this is as good as it gets for small-town fireworks.

looks like a macro shot of a dandelion, sort of. I think it's neat.

I have taken mine during the International des Feux Loto-Québec, a major fireworks competition that takes place each summer in Montreal.

This is South Korea's display. My girlfriend and I had the crappiest places of the site, even though we had paid for our seats (you can of course see the competition from the surrounding area free of charge). The tall pine on the left was blocking half our field of view...

I already posted this picture in the "Time to praise the kit lens" topic, so you might already have seen it.

A three-legged monopod (not as stable as a tripod, though). I also used a wired remote.
