Tamron 150-600 G2

Guys, I currently own the original Tamron 150-600. My only issue with this lens is AF speed. Very slow. I'm wondering if anyone has ever used the G2 version? Reviews seem to indicate the AF speed is significantly improved. Is it worth the price to go to the G2? Anyone ever actually compare the two?

Full extent/low light focusing will result in a less-than-pleasing focus speed. However, in relatively bright conditions and with the lens focused within a reasonable range of the desired target, it's AF speed is quite satisfactory.
