Biography:
I'm a 33 year old man that wants to expand his knowledge and take some really great photos.

I've recently gotten into photography. My father handed me down a Minolta SLR with a handful of lenses. So I immediately thought I was a photographer. Although I was able to capture unique images, the quality was just horrid! Last year I purchased my first DSLR because it was cheap and it was a DSLR, a Rebel XS/1000d. I then purchased a EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS lens through eBay for 125.00 US. I took some good photos, however I didn't know what I was doing and when I looked at them enlarged it was apparent. So I started reading and practiced shooting in different situations. I recently sold my XS/1000d and purchased a brand new T2i paired with a EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens for 477.99 through a local box store that wasn't going to carry that model any longer. I lucked out I thought and the T2i is a great camera for me. I then purchased an EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens for 400.00 US through eBay and have had a great time with it. I wanted a better lens than the kit lens so I settled on the EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM, and so far I am really enjoying it. I then purchased a EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM for 315.00 US through eBay and after two weeks shooting with it, I'm disappointed with the upper performance after 200mm, I think the word I should use is soft edges. I've always seen the white lenses around being used but hadn't understood why they're so much better until I purchased a EF 70-200mm f/4L USM through eBay for 510.00 US. I was astonished how much sharper my photos became. So now I'm selling the 70-300mm and the 55-250mm and have my eye set on expanding my L series lenses after I build some funds back up!

I've been reading Bryan Carnathan's reviews on DP and have found them quite informative. So I decided to join this community to interact with like minded people.
