About stevewall
- Biography:
- My neighborhood is constantly alive with a colorful combination of persons of different ages, races, cultures, ethnic backgrounds, genders, careers and economic backgrounds. I often bicycle or walk along the lake many mornings.
I am a "flaneur," a stroller, a loiterer, a dawdler on street corners and in cafes; an observer, a hanger-about who rambles through a city without any apparent purpose but is highly attuned to the history of the place, in a constant covert search of adventure, aesthetic or the exotic and erotic. As a photographer, I often document my observations.
I graduated from the Institute of Design at Illinois Institute of Technology with a BS in photography along with a minor in graphic design. I also did some post graduate work along with continuing education courses and seminars, etc. I enjoy arboretums and gardens, history, art, music, architecture, history and striking up conversations with people I meet. I am curious for anything new.
As a professional photographer, I shoot advertising, architecture, editorial and corporate work. I try to approach these subjects in a style to bring drama to an often bland subject. There is an expression for what I do: "I turn a sow's* ear into a silk purse." *(female pig)
