Aug 15, 2009 Nashville Strobist Meetup Results
A bunch of strobist enthusiasts gathered at the Marathon Village complex in Nashville, TN to shoot, share ideas, and just plain have fun. It was a blast to attend, but I have to admit I got covered from head to toe in dust and dirt. It was worth the extra load of laundry I had to do! All strobist info can be found by clicking on the images. The entire series (a few not shown) can be seen here.

Great shots Sean. I like the first inside shot alot.
Dumb Question: How do you record the strobist info? Do you write it down? I'm assuming it isn't collected in the meta data..
Thanks,
-Rodger

The flash output is not recorded in the metadata. In fact, I the metadata says, "FLASH: OFF." It always says this when you're simply using a trigger instead of using a flash on-camera. So its up to you to remember what the settings were when you took the shot. Each setup might had a little variation in it, but I usually remember what the settings were and can tell when I changed the settings/light placement by analyzing the strength and direction of the highlights and shadows.
You know, the funniest thing is that the last picture is my own personal favorite while the 3rd pic is my girlfriend's favorite!

Sean,
Nice. Ireally like the backlights in the last two. What are they?
Also, what lens and aperture. I like the starbursts around the lights and the flare control. Don't tell me you used the new 10-22 for these.

Every single one of those was taken with the 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5. The lights in the background of the last two pictures are Vivitar 285HV flashes set at 1/4 power (the mainlight was a Vivitar 285HV set to full power shot through an umbrella). One is held on to the frame using a LumoPro spring clamp (basically a justin clamp) and the other is up on a lightstand slightly behind the frame pointing at the camera from between the studs.
