135mm f/2 L for indoor sports/events

I have the 100mm macro and it works pretty well for most of my indoor sports stuff. I use the 85mm 1.8 a little more due to the focus speed and low light ability. I am shooting with a 1.6 crop body for informational purposes.


Does anyone own the 135mm f2 lens and find that it is too long for shooting basketball and other indoor sports? Does it work ok when you try to shoot football after dark? How about weddings and other social events? Have any examples to post? I have the 70-200 f4 IS and that is great for daylight but am running into trouble at the low light levels.
