Ugh, rebates
You know what they say when you assume? I tried to use my Sandisk rebate debit card today. I never would have thought the card would expire and didn't even take it off the papers it was attached to until today. Moral of the story, if you ever get far enough in a rebate program to where they actually send you a card, USE IT THAT DAY before they change their mind. I'm 0 for 3 in the camera gear rebates. This ones on me though for not reading fine print.

Re: Ugh, rebates
My personal favourite one is buying something, opening it up, seeing a rebate card, getting all excited, then reading the fine print and discovering the rebate expired 2 years ago... then you sit there wondering why the thing you bought didn't sell for over two years... sigh

Re: Ugh, rebates
lol That is high-larious! I should count myself lucky in the fact I only lost $80 on the rebate card. I had eyed a pack of UDMA cards for less than $100 (reg. price over $350). I'm sure the rebate would have been the same way, and with my mail the way it is, I can't even get BestBuy coupons to the house without it being a week past the date.

Re: Ugh, rebates
Two years ago I did the SanDisk rebate, and Adorama was offering an additional 10% value on the rebate if it was a SanDisk check to Adorama. I bought three CF cards, three SD cards, and a FireWire CF reader. On the form, there were three rows where you could fill out what product(s) you were claiming a rebate on. SanDisk tried to say you can only collect a rebate on one product (quantity up to 3 of that product). I had to argue that it never explicitly says that on the form, and the form clearly has room for three products to be filled out. They agreed, but sent me a debit card for the additional rebate, so I couldn't get my additional bonus from Adorama.

Re: Ugh, rebates
At least it wasn't like the "Save 500$ when you buy a camera and printer" thing. That would have mucho sucked.
