I might have just found a way to afford the 7D!
Sell my T2i with kit lens for ~$750
Buy 7D (body only) with theCanon PIXMA Pro9500 Mk II for ~$2300
Get the $500 rebate from the 7D + Pro9500
Sell the brand new unopened Pro9500 for ~$650
So I get the 7D for ~$400
Too good to be true/work?
What do you think?
Re: I might have just found a way to afford the 7D!
There's a rebate for the Pixma Pro9500 right now that brings it down to $500. Plus, whenever there's a camera + PixmaPro rebate going on, it drives the price down because of the flood of PixmaPros on ebay. Therefore, I wouldn't expect you to get anywhere near $650 for the printer.

Reminds me of the old sitcom where the husband has this complicated get rich plan.

I could wait to sell the printer for awhile until the rebates are over
Also I could take advantage of the double rebates that canon is offering for some lenses when purchased with a 7D

Even so, $550 for a 7D seems pretty good to me

From what I recall, those rebates have run almost continuously (maybe with a couple of weeks off) for the past year. The lower end model, thePixma Pro9000, lists for $400 at online retailers. New ones are listed for $200 on my local CL, there are at least 4-5 of them on that board at any given time. I'd go a little further than Pete, and say you may have a hard time selling one at all, unless you price it very, very aggressively...

Buying the printer with the rebate is a good idea if you want the printer. It

perhaps it would be better for me to just sell my T2i for $750 and then buy a refurbished 50D for $900?
But I really like the video on the 7D =/
Decisions, decisions.

Baker, the lowest price of a new 7D I can find is $1420 without the rebate, I
