Rod, Nice Pic--Very sharp for a long exposure. Just curious, what kind of post processing did you apply. I have been messing with moon shots the last couple of nights with out any real luck, so any hints are appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob
I think it turned out very nice. My biggest knock would be the reflection of the moon. IMO, it is too distracting and bright and pulls my eyes to it. And I
Thanks guys for the reviews...this is a stock photo except for i darkened half expo on canon photo pro and sharpened just a little to...this was a test shot i was out at the beach by my house trying to get good shots of the full moon on sat night...the tide was very low where i was so i could walk under this pier where the water is normal about 3-6ft deep,it was pitch black except for moon so i was trying to take short to med expo shots with the flash on..i took a few of the beach and under pier, most expo were in the about 15-30sec range after fireing the flash whichgave me what looked like a surface of mars like effect i think lol because of the orange glow on the water.. well anyway i just though the effect looked kinds cool so thats why i posted to see what others thought...thanks for looking Rod

Canon 40D, 200mm f/9, 1/100s, iso 100, tripod mounted, no post processing. Obviously a longer focal length will produce better moon shots, but that's about the typical setting I use for moon shots. Long exposure moon shots are too difficult!!
I had a lot of fun last year in Taiwan with my 5DII and 24-105 IS, especially at night. All of these are hand held.

70 - 30 second exposures stacked to simulate a 35 minute exposure. A full moon helped to illuminate the tree.
