Question about using an arm on my light stand

Good Morning -

I have a LumoPro 8' Black A/C Stand with Umbrella Swivel Adapters that I use with my speedlights. This may be a really stupid question but I was wondering if an arm can be attached to the top of this to offer more versatility? Or do the arms need to be purchased with the stand that they are intended for? Granted, the arm couldn't be too heavy and I would need to properly weigh down the base.

If you know of anything that would work , or if there is an inexpensive stand I should look at that comes with an arm ...please point me in the right direction.It's not something I would want to spend a lot of$ on to have butthe thought just came to melast night when I was taking a few photographs thatit wouldhave come in handy.

Honestly, I'm not sure your LP stands will be sturdy enough when using a boom arm and a modifier. I usually use my beefier stands when using a boom.

The rig works very well for speedlights, but even my beefier stands aren't sturdy enough to use a monolight with the boom extended horizontally. I've been looking into buying more (and better) stands, but that's on the backburner right now.

Thanks, Sean! I will take a look at these and maybe look into another stand. I need to get one anyway since the tightening knob on a generic stand I had just broke. It figures it happened the day after I sold one of my LP stands!

I set the website up thru zenfolio and went thru godaddy for my web address. You can set-up a trial site for free and then if you like it, it costs $100 but I could send you a referral code for $10 off. Godaddy was about $18. For the most part it was pretty easy. Hardest part was being patient enough for search engines to start picking it up!

NOW ...if I could just start taking photos that look as good as the website!
