I didn't want a closer picture
This dropped about 3/4 a mile away from the house and would have been headed toward us, then it picked up and past over. The wall cloud was over the house for about ten minutes rotating and moving. It had been on the ground previously as some debris was falling from the sky. Mostly leafs and small light trash.
Of course you may critique these pictures, but honestly in the situation I would not guarantee I would be thinking clearly enough to care if the picture was better.
Starting to drop down

It is natural that way. I was leaning toward the door getting ready to run in and hide.

I think the framing is way off. There

So, can I be your mother for one second and scold you for being outside taking photos while this is flying thru the air?!? That's it, you are grounded ...no more photography for you for the rest of the week!! [;)]
So glad you are safe!!
Denise
Re: I didn't want a closer picture
Wow that's very impressive [:O] And no, I'm not talking about that vent pipe [;)]
Be safe. You might want to use a tripod next time or shoot a movie or time-lapse [:#]

Sean
If it had stayed on the ground it would have went right over us and I could have gotten the straight up shot. It would have been from a closet in the house though.
Denise
I got scolded by the wife when this was happening, and afterward. I may be like my kids though, when no ones looking I may sneak out and take some pictures even though I am grounded.
Jan
A tripod would have helped. Believe me there was some camera shake going on.
Thanks Guys

..........but now that everything ended well....those are some pretty awesome photos to have taken!
Re: I didn't want a closer picture
These were taken by my Son last night. This is about 30 miles south of my house and it happened at almost the exact same time. The damaged house is my first wife's house, they went to her house to get away from the tornadoes and drove directly in to the path. It went just to the side of her house. The saw the tornado coming and went to another house that had a cellar. No one in our family were hurt.
He took these with his point and shoot.

My son took this picture Sunday of a developing storm. I just included it because it looked very coold. This is why I carry my camera in case somthing like this pops up.
