I sold my ring flash and the Post Office lost it!
i swear if I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all! I sold my practically brand new macro ring flash, adapters and lens capon FM and the buyers post office lost it!!! How do you lose a box!
So now I have to wait until the end of next week to file an insurance claim with the post office but ....
Should I have the post office reimburse me and then when they do, I reimburse him?
Should I have them reimburse him directly? These are the two options on the claim form. Or doesn't it really matter?
Stupid me got too overly confident in our USPS and didn't insure it for what its worth or even exactly what he paid for it so now I have to still pay him some $ back! [:'(] [:'(] [:'(]

Always ship via UPS or Fedex for camera gear.

Sorry to hear that, a friend of mine has been selling sports cards and memorabilia for many years and he claims roughly a .5-1% loss rate through the usps. He says that for every 100 packages he sends out, 2 buyers claim to have never received a package. So probably 1 legitimate loss out of 100 is pretty bad. (he looses 3-10 packages a month, but they are all items worth under $5, so insurance or shipping through fedex/ups isn't worth it)
I agree ups or fedex. Sorry about your loss... I have had a package lost through usps, and after filling out a loss claim after 3 weeks of waiting (no insurance on the package) the package showed up a week later. So maybe you will get lucky and it will be found.
