Anyone own a Lowepro lens case 2 and a Canon 70-200 f/4 (IS)?
As per Bryan's reviews I'm aware that the Lowepro lens case 3 provides enough room for the Canon 70-200mm f/4 IS with its hood reversed, but I like my lenses to fit quite snugly with as little movement as possible when inside their cases. I've scoured a couple of forums/reviews but seem to get conflicting answers:
Does the 70-200 f/4 IS, with its hood reversed, fit in the Lowepro lens case 2?

I do not have the 70-200 f/4 IS, but the lens case 2 is 3.5" in diameter inside. If that helps, the bad news is you may not be able to find a lens case 2. Lowepro has revamped their lens case line and there are fewer of them and they are more expensive. I am looking to add another 2S for my 70-300 L, but I can not find one thus far.

Thanks both for your replies! Chris, you seem to be right - they're difficult to find for sale. There is one eBay retailer selling from China (link) but that's about all I can see!

I have the 70-200 f/4 (non IS) and the Case 2 and I think that with the hood reversed, the fit is very snug. So much that I think it might deform the hood over time.

w349,
I do not know where you are, but personally I am leery of buying things on fleabay directly from China. I just think the transaction has too many ways to sour.
What I did find at B&H, a reputable dealer in the US, is a line which seems to be their house line called Pearstone. They look to be modeled after the Lowepro right down to the accessory mesh pocket in the lid. I am calling them on Monday to see how they compare. They are priced nicely as well. And, if I do not like it I can easily return it, although I would most likely order one first and just keep it since the shipping would not make returning it worthwhile to me. I am not sure of the length of your lens, but I think diameter wise you may want to look at the Onyx 60. I think the little larger diameter will fit the reversed hood better. Here is the link:

Good luck,
