I seem to recall a lot of people saying that they're out of stock everywhere lately.

I've no idea if it's cheap or not, but it's available, and thought i'd share...
They indeed are tough to find, especially at decent price.
I recently bought a brand new one from 17th street photo through Amazon.com
For anyone interested, B&H now has the 52mm drop-in CPL in stock.
Note that the ones B&H has in stock now match the version II lenses (their color is WII).
