Does the Trio require the Quantum power pack or can it use regular batteries?

Ken, Thank you for the response. It is good to know that Quantum monitors discussion boards. So, another question: Does the Qlink need a FreeXwire receiver, or does it have one built in?

Mark... The Trio works with any Turbo Battery.


Larry... The Qlink does need a FreeXwire receiver. Specifically the FW8R, not the FW10W

I have a couple of old SunPak 120J's. I operate them on AA's and they are fine. I like the barbulb but would like to add ETTL.



The Quantum Turbo packes are not in the budget but AA's are. Has Quantum designed this flash to restrict me to these expensive options only?
