Difference in focusing speed of 1dmkII and 7d?

Hi all,
I'm currently shooting sports on a 1d mkII ( using a 550d for video) but i have become particularly interested in the 7d. The (very slightly) slower frame rate does not bother me because it's only .5 fps less.

However, i'm wondering how the focusing speed varies. I'm well aware that the 1d series leads the canon market for focusing speed and having read the 7d review on here I know that the 1dmkIII out performs the 7d when it comes to focusing speed but i wonder how the 7d compares to the 1dmkII?

If i was to change (i hasten to say downgrade due to the many improved features) to the 7d would i see a noticible change in focusing speed from the 1dmkII??
