Advice needed on lenses

Hi,

I am having difficulties on deciding with lenses to purchase.
77mm or 82mm?

The new Canon EF24-77mm F2.8 II coming out is a 82mm
so is EF 16-35 F2.8 II

or do I go with the

the current Canon EF24-77mm F2.8 is 77mm
so is the EF 17-40 F4 lens

I think you meant the new 24-70mm F/2.8 L II not 77mm.

If there is no money issue, the choice would be the new 24-70mm F/2.8 L II. Reading the info released on it so far, and looking at the charts it is promising to be the best of the group you listed. 82mm threads would be a non issue for me.

+1 on that advice, it's a silly thing to get worked up on the filter thread size when it comes to choosing an inferior lens just because of the filter thread. Get the best and sell the filters you don't need anymore. Worst case scenario just get the bigger filter and use a step down ring.

24-70mm II will be a gangbanger lens!
